About Kemer:
Kemer is a seaside resort in the province of Antalya, Turkey which lies along the Gulf of Antalya on the Mediterranean sea on the skirts of western Taurus mountains. It is approximately 40 km from the city of Antalya. The district has a population of 36,010 according to the 2010 census. One of the major attractions of Kemer is its natural beauty. The sea, forest and mountains combine in harmony. The shore that starts from Beldibi to Tekirova is consisted of completely natural beaches with many small and large natural bays along the shore. Kemer has shown a great development in the past years. Because of the tourism related investments, it includes a large amount of bed capacity of the Antalya region. About Antalya:
Antalya is known as the Turkish Riviera. The sun, sea, nature and history combine to form a very popular resort, highlighted by some of the cleanest beaches in the Mediterranean. The famous cultural spots of city of Antalya are as follows:
Kaleiçi (Old city): The Ancient walls of Kaleiçi are the joint monument of the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods, and under protection by High Council of Immovable Monuments and Antiquities as a protected area due to its unique texture.
Yivli Minaret: it was built in the reign of Anatolian Seljukian Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat (1219 -1236). Ulu Cami (Ulu Mosque): It was actually built as a Basilica in V. century then was repaired during the Ottoman period, a part of it used as Mevlevihane (whirling dervish hall) and then opened to service as a mosque. Karatay Madrasah: Turkish – Islamic monuments built in the middle of XIII century; Evdir Han and Kırgız Han (Evdir and Kırgız Caravanserai) up to the 20th century travelling was by horses and camels,The caravans stopped in "Han" and caravanserai on the road. They are Seljukian monuments which were built in XIII century; Düden and Kurşunlu Waterfalls, Lara, Konyaaltı Beaches. Perge-- It is an important Pamphylian city, situated on the Cilicia – Pisidia trade route. The foundation of the city coincides with other Pamphylian cities (VII. Century BC). Perge was important for Christians. Saint Paulos and Barnabas came to Perge. It has ruins such as theatre, stadium, main road with columns and agora were found; Karain Cave, ancient site of the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic and Bronze ages; Ariassos: ancient Roman site with hamams (bath), rock tombs and remains of necropolis with magnificent tombs.
